Alissa Salvatore

Alissa Salvatore is an actress, singer and host from The Bronx. Her father, born and raised in Abruzzo, met her mother, an Italian American girl from The Bronx, on the 5 train. As a first-generation child of an immigrant, Alissa holds Italian traditions close to her heart: singing Italian music; learning family recipes; spending time with family, and — most importantly — honoring her heritage throughout her career. She held onto her Italian last name, her accent, and her Italian nose when the industry wanted her to look and sound like everyone else. Alissa is eager to change how Italian Americans are represented in film and television, and you can find her highlighting Italian businesses in her daily life and work travels on Instagram: Starvingactressnyc.
