Appetito’s Autumn Bag Edit – 2024

Vineyard Vines' Leather Trim Striped Shoulder Bag

I’m a bag girl.

While I love all accessories, handbags are a priority for me. I love how a bag can change the entire vibe of an outfit, often elevating or adding a special flair to one’s look.

While my summer collection of handbag options was often colorful and bright — or beach-y, my fall options are a little more subdued — mostly in neutral or dark tones. Suede is playing a starring role this fall for me, as is a snakeskin print.

Here are 10 Appetito-approved bag options for fall.

Mini Slouchy Vida Suede Bag (Banana Republic - $220)

This suede bag is the ideal neutral for nights out. The quality is excellent and it’s a piece I’m convinced I will be using it for decades to come.

Leather Trim Striped Shoulder Bag (Vineyard Vines - $148)

I love the understated pop of lavender amidst this bag’s stripes. It fits comfortably over the shoulder and fits a good amount for days spent apple picking or indulging in other fun fall activities.

Snake-Print Italian Leather Crossbody Bag (Banana Republic - $180)

This crossbody from Banana Republic is super fun for nights out. It’s smaller so a great option for bar hopping while still looking absolutely fabulous.

Le Pliage Original L Tote bag (Longchamp - $155)

I carry Longchamp’s Le Pliage Original L Tote year round for work — though I love all sizes of their Le Pliage collection. It’s a catch-all for my life between work, errands and home. It’s simple, classic and beyond fitting everything I need, it’s outfitted with a full zipper, which I love for travel days. I love the Fawn colorway for fall.

Plaid Airplane Tote- Tan/Grey Combo (Hat Attack - $184)

This option is ideal for fall weekend-ing. Spacious and flexible, it is expandable with two snaps on each side of each bag. The plaid print is lovely and works well with many fall outfits, in case you’re concerned about cuteness while commuting.

Nodo Mini Clutch in Rouge (MLE - $228)

Perfect for events, I love the pop of color this offers for fall. The print is gorgeous and makes this a standout piece — I definitely see this as an elevation element for the right outfits.

Timeless Element Brown Woven Crescent Shoulder Bag (Lulus - $45)

This is a great option for weekend days on-the-go and weeknight dinners. It’s a little bit bigger than a night-out kind of style and it’s absolutely adorable.

The Essential Medium Bucket Tote (Madewell - $168)

Madewell’s The Essential Medium Bucket Tote is my It Bag of the fall. It’s an elevated basic that works well with nearly any outfit and is super spacious. Better yet, it’s available in a number of colorways.

Dallas Jewels Black Jacquard Bow Mini Handbag (Lulus - $55)

This bow-forward option from Sister Jane sold by Lulus is going to be my go-to when it comes to weddings this fall but this style is versatile in all-black. It adds a sweet touch to a denim look and also pairs well with formal-wear.

Paris (Deseri - $375)

Deseri's Paris is a great option for all seasons. Buttery-soft, this leather clutch is luxurious and features eight card slots, cell phone storage, a gold chain and a zipper closure.
