If you love pizza and are anywhere near Los Angeles this coming weekend, have we got an event for you. Pizza City Fest Los Angeles takes place at LA Live Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30, with 40 pizzerias from Southern California bringing their best pies to the table.
Pizza City Fest Los Angeles is the first West Coast pie throw-down from Steve Dolinsky, the award-winning author, TV host and pizza authority. He launched the inaugural Pizza City Fest in Chicago in 2022, with a sort of mission statement to "create a series of pizza festivals with three objectives in mind: showcase a region’s unsung pizza artisans; educate and inform the public on how to make better pizza at home and what goes into great pizza; finally, to give back to the community through charitable partnerships."
In LA, that means a lineup of SoCal's most ambitious and dedicated pizza makers, including standouts such as Pizzana, Apollonia, Eataly, Double Zero, the Hollywood location of L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, and even a San Francisco interloper, Long Bridge Pizza Company. Special guests and panelists include Chris Bianco, Evan Funke, Daniele Uditi, Dominick DiBartolomeo of The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills.
The charity partner is the great Careers through Culinary Arts program, or C-CAP, the non-profit that provides training for underserved teens to pursue careers in the restaurants and other food businesses.
